CHAIN-REDSStrategic alliances

CHAIN-REDS is an FP7 project co-funded by the European Commission to promote and support technological and scientific collaboration across different e-Infrastructures established and operated in various continents, in order to define a path towards a global e-Infrastructure ecosystem that will allow Virtual Research Communities (VRCs), research groups and even single researchers to access and efficiently use worldwide distributed resources (i.e. computing, storage, data, services, tools, applications).

LinkSCEEM-2Strategic alliances

LinkSCEEM-2 is a joint collaborative effort of 11 Institutions in Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean and the US, funded in part by the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme.

The first phase of LinkSCEEM (April 2008-January 2010), an FP7 Support Action, succeeded in raising the general awareness of HPC and computational science in the Eastern Mediterranean and in implementing a network of users from the region who will benefit from the availability of supercomputer systems. LinkSCEEM has also been a catalyst for the development of ties among research organizations in the region.

The current phase of the project, LinkSCEEM-2, aims at further developing a Virtual Research Community in Computational Science in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

EUMEDCONNECT2 and LinkSCEEM signed a Memorandum Of Understanding in early 2011.

ENPI Info CentreStrategic alliances

The ENPI Info Centre portal is one of the main communication tools of the ENPI Information and Communication Support Project, launched by the European Commission in January 2009 to make more known the relationship between the EU, its nine partner countries in the Mediterranean and seven neighbours and partners in the East. It follows on from the EuroMed Info Centre, a similar project focusing only on the Mediterranean partner countries, which lasted from October 2005 to January 2009. The portal features the latest developments in the European Neighbourhood Partnership including news, features and multimedia libraries.
